About the role

As part of the Analytics, Performance & Insights team your role will be to work on and proactively identify areas of opportunity or business problems and provide data driven member insights and recommendations that are actionable, scientifically backed yet easy to understand to support the HCF business and members.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of initiatives and business problems (from growth to retention, marketing and web analytics, member experience in all our digital and assisted channels) and aspire to be a data and business SME that will directly influence the tactical and strategic decision-making process at HCF.

This highly technical role is a blend of performance and insights from both our offline and online channels and requires strong data and analytical skills, attention to detail, translating numbers into insights and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills to pull data from a multitude of different systems and have the ability to translate the numbers into actionable insights, that need to be deciphered for the business.

Your role will be part of a broader Audience Centre of Excellence (ACE), comprising of Media, Member Marketing Automation and Analytics, focusing on identification of trends, recommendations, key areas of opportunity across the offline, online and media pillars to demonstrate and put Marketing and the MMA team in a position of proactive activity. A key focus is building strong, cross-functional ways of working and working with one large MMA team to share your natural ability to see trends as they happen and make recommendations and identify key areas of opportunity ahead of time.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in an Insights analytics role
  • Degree-level qualifications, with preference for degrees in applied finance, statistics, actuarial or a related analytical field
  • Previous experience in turning raw data into actionable, value-adding insights and recommendations, tell a story (build and present packs), with a proven track record of successfully influencing the business
  • Strong spreadsheet skills with Microsoft Excel applied to charting, data transformation and complex formulas.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to overlay commercial acumen to develop insights and recommendations – challenging the business when required
  • Advanced SQL coding expertise querying large and complex datasets 

Experience analysing large, complex, and high-volume relational data sets with tools such as:

  • SQL Server 
  • SAS Enterprise 
  • Miner,
  • Tableau Prep
  • ,Microsoft Access etcA
  • Adobe Analytics
  • Adobe Audience Manager
  • Google Analytics suite
  • Tealeaf

Experience working within complex data warehouse environments:

  • Snowflake
  • AWS
  • DB2
  • Aurora

Desirable:

  • R and/or Python capabilities for more advanced analysis
  • Experience with MarTech platforms:
  • Salesforce CRM
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Knowledge of the Health/Insurance industry
